The Critz Farms Harvest Dash and CNY Bread Run will be taking place Saturday and Sunday. Instead of working 9 to 5, you should go see the play instead. If you cannot make it out to Shoppingtown Mall, make up a tall tale on why you cannot, because you’re going to see Big Fish instead. While you’re at The Redhouse, be sure to check out the Show Us CNY Exhibit that was created by Central New Yorkers with the help of our photogenic area.
But that’s not all: There is a hop festival; a toy festival; an outdoor fashion show; a street festival; a dinner and a movie; a craft cocktail tournament; and plenty of music.

The musical, based on the ’70s-based ’80s farce, is hitting the stage at The Central New York Playhouse and continues this weekend. Shows running from Thursdays to Saturdays begin at 8 p.m. Sunday afternoon shows run at 2 p.m. A special dinner and show will take place Saturday, Sept. 19.

Big Fish
The musical adaptation of the book that was once turned into a Tim Burton movie hits The Redhouse stage, telling the story of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman whose stories come across larger than life. This weekend’s shows are all sold out, so it’s something that has to be planned in advance and as soon as possible.

Whether you choose to participate in the fun run, the 5K or the half marathon, you’ll be running on a beautiful rural United States Track and Field-certified course in an effort to raise money for schools. If you want to participate in the Zero K, you only need to donate $25 to have access to the hospitality tent and “not have to break a sweat.” A pasta dinner will be held at Fabius-Pompey High School the evening before, 4:30-7 p.m. ($8 or $25 per family).

The 2nd Annual Harvest Dash offers a 1-mile walk or run or a 5K trail run through Critz Farms. Yes, participants get to run through trees and crops and the orchards. All proceeds go to benefit Camp Good Days and Special Times. Last year: $3,295 was raised.

The first night of a five-part tournament features 16 bartenders from the area, showcasing their skills and artistry in the the world of craft cocktails. World Indoor Lacrosse Championship
For the first time ever, the World Indoor Lacrosse Championship is coming to Syracuse. The tournament, which is held every four years, features lacrosse teams from all over the world.
