“The weather was seasonal on the evening of 16 November 1999,” Fred remarked rather casually.
Of course for the rural Village of Clarence Center in Erie County, NY that means it was very cold and blustery. For Fred this was just a spontaneous trip over to a regional shopping center to return a pair of socks.
“If I had left 20 seconds later, I would have missed the whole thing,” he mused.
Fred explained that he backed his pickup truck onto the local road. As he headed westward he saw a very bright, yellowish light near the horizon. Moments later a second and third light appeared, over a period of perhaps a minute they continued to appear.
“My first thought was that they were landing lights from an airplane until I started seeing them accumulate and grow in size.”
Fred immediately pulled off to the side of the road, turned off his radio, and stuck his head out of the truck’s window.
“The large orbs were about the color of the moon. At first count there were seven; but after recounting I’m positive there were a total of eight of them.”
The eight bright sphere UFOs traveled across the sky in a little under a minute until they disappeared over the southern horizon. As they passed over the field, they were approximately 300 yards away and 300-500 feet in altitude. Fred points out that the eight bright sphere UFOs were huge. When the eight orbs were overhead they appeared to take up almost half of the entire sky.
“They flew in a line and did not change their positions but, they weren’t spaced evenly apart. There were 2 – a gap, then 3 – a gap, then 2, another gap, then 1. My first solid impression was that this was a controlled flight and not anything man-made.”
He tells us that there was no propulsion sound or sonic boom, which surprised him considering how fast they were moving.
“I thought there would have been a sonic boom for something traveling that fast!”
Fred went home and called a local television station and asked if anyone else had reported the sighting, they told him “no.” As luck would have it, Fred was bowling with a friend the next evening. He shared his account to his bowling companion and the man’s jaw dropped. The man told Fred that one of his employees, who resided in Akron, NY also in Erie County, reported seeing the same sighting event. Fred contacted the man his friend knew and the two men compared notes on the phone, and discussed the sighting a number of times.
Let’s look at some recent UFO Sightings in New York Skies:
27 April 2015: at about 05:30 a.m. a resident of Thompson Ridge, NY reported five or six dim white lights hovering over the local wet lands area.
27 April 2015: at about 10 p.m. a Lake George couple were driving north on a regional road and observed a bright orange-reddish object fly over the locality in a fast and controlled manner. They notified the county sheriff’s office and were told it was most likely a Chinese lantern. The couple says, “No Way.”
29 April 2015: at about 1:30 a.m. a Wampsville, NY residents reported observing a grey illuminated rectangle, with round large lights on the sides, flying above the tree tops. They report that it had a low humming sound. The two men watched it rotate, change direction by a few degrees, but lost sight of it flying low over the forest/swamp.
29 April 2015: at about 11:45 p.m. a resident of Lindenhurst, NY witnessed red green lights flashing and hovering in the sky, a few moment later the lights were joined by another set.
