The newest and largest attraction on the mall’s third floor, next to Wonder- Works, is an entertainment feast for the eyes and ears.
Take one step in, and on the left is the restaurant/bar area dominated by a mesmerizing bubble wall. To the right are the lively sounds and blinking bright lights of an arcade. The 55,000-squarefoot facility also features pulsating music from a deejay booth in front of another bar and a 24-lane boutique bowling area cloaked in black light.
The all-in-one, family-friendly venue is a brand of Frank Entertainment, based in Florida. Revolutions made its debut Oct. 11 with an invitation-only VIP event, followed by an official grand opening the weekend of Oct. 18.
Revolutions hostess Patricia Krakau, of Syracuse, is in awe of her new workplace. “They fit so much in one space: bowling, food, an arcade. It’s all here,” Krakau said. “It’s truly amazing.”
Tara Nesseralla, vice president of sales and marketing of Frank Entertainment, said Revolutions will cater to a broad demographic. Frank also has a Revolutions in Bethlehem Pa., with others planned for West Palm Beach and Orlando, Fla., and Rock Hill, S.C.
“The Revolutions brand is what you’re looking at,” Nesseralla said. “It’s the restaurant, the high-energy bar atmosphere, the theater, the deejay booth, the stadium-seating area for watching games and the bowling. It gives a little bit of something for everyone. Parents can sit and watch the game and have something to eat while the kids can go bowl or go to the arcade. It’s all under the same roof.”
In addition to a 24-lane bowling alley, an arcade and a full-service restaurant that features pizzas, burgers, salads and chicken wings, Revolutions also has an area to watch any type of sporting event called “The Stadium” and the Revo Live Theatre, a separate 250-seat showroom with a stage for live entertainment and its own private bar.
The sophisticated ambiance of the 24-lane bowling area has more of a nightclub vibe than your average brightly lit bowling alley. Revolutions patrons can sit and converse on comfy mocha-colored leather sofas while bowling. Dark cherry wood floors lead to the Brunswick approaches and lanes. Stark white bowling pins and neon bowling balls glow in the dark thanks to black lighting.
Revolutions’ pricing is $3.75 per game and $3.25 to rent shoes. On Friday and Saturday after 6 p.m., hourly rates will be in effect to bowl. The fee is $30 per hour with six people per lane.
“In the evening, we are suited for those networking, social aspects of the venue,” Nesseralla said. “These locations speak to the after-hours event where we’ve been successful in the Pennsylvania market, as well.”
