Fitting an 8-foot-tall Christmas tree into a small apartment would be another kind of Christmas miracle.

When space is tight, it’s not easy to move or even remove furniture to make room for a tree. But if you love decorating for the holidays, there’s no need to downsize your expectations for a small space.

A three-foot-tall ivory tree is available at Metro Home Style, 689 N. Clinton St. for $29.99. The branches fold up for storage.

A small tree or a tabletop tree can be decorated in the same way you’d decorate a large tree. A tabletop tree can be placed on any flat surface, like an end table, coffee table, desk or countertop. Or, decorate the houseplants you own with ornaments and lights. Evergreen or lighted branches can take the place of a tree.

Tree candles under a bell jar, a small tree in a vase and a white bottle tree for $18 are available at Carol Watson Greenhouse, 2980 Sentinel Heights Rd, LaFayette.

Candles, bells, wreaths and wall plaques can fit into the tiniest corners. Garlands and lights can be placed around doorways and window frames. Put glass ornaments into a clear glass vase.

Red bells hanging from a ribbon are available at K-Mart for $12.49.

With a little imagination, even the smallest space can look a lot like Christmas.

We do have to admit we’re puzzled what a 48-inch lighted replica of the Eiffel Tower, available at Michaels and Big Lots, has to do with Christmas.

A 48-inch-high lighted Eiffel Tower is available at Michael's for $59.99.

Maybe the tower represents a wish to spend next Christmas in Paris.
