When Jake was 15 he lived in a Catskill ski-resort area. Sporting a population of about a thousand persons, the little village of Jewett, in Greene County, New York is quite isolated, being surrounded by hundreds of acres of Catskill mountain forests. It was on an early January night in 2000, at about 9 p.m., when Jake was taking the garbage out to the house complex’s dumpsters. The area around the dumpsters was about 30-40 feet from the houses and was heavily lit with flood lights.

“As I was returning from the dumpster, I noticed it suddenly stopped snowing. I can’t recall exactly why I looked up, but as I did, I noticed a huge triangle craft moving at an eerily slow speed and low altitude overhead. My immediate reaction was “UFO, run,” but I couldn’t move out of fear.”

Jake explained that he couldn’t see much of the craft itself through the snow, the “blackness” of the craft versus the snow and floodlights allowed me to see a triangular profile.

“The craft itself had many small white lights on the bottom. The huge triangular craft was large enough, low enough, and moving slow enough to stop snowfall for roughly 10-15 seconds. It made no noise at all. The light from the floodlights was able to penetrate high enough to touch the craft through the snow; so I imagine the craft was at most 50-75 feet in the air.”

He knew it wasn’t any kind of conventional aircraft because it was moving too slow and as he points out, “Who in their right mind would be flying in a blinding snow storm in the mountains?”

Jake tells us that he immediately told his parents the huge triangular craft that he had just witnessed in the snow. He says they laughed off his account off and didn’t believe him.

Let’s look at some recent UFO sightings in New York Skies:

1 May 2015: at about 9 p.m. a Cazenovia, NY resident saw a blue and green fireball with a tail, seen failing rapidly then disappearing into the night sky.

1 May 2015: at about 9:30 p.m. a New Harford, NY resident observed a large flash of neon green light with gold and white, streaking across the night sky.

2 May 2015: at about 9 p.m. a Syracuse, NY resident reported a brilliant orange object, followed by another one 10 seconds later; both objects then disappeared.

5 May 2015: at about 9:30 p.m. a Port Crane, NY resident witnessed a bright circle of bluish-white light hovering at what looked to be a few miles away from his house.

7 May 2015: at about 11 p.m. a New York City resident reported observing two orange orbs flying in low formation over the Hudson River in Manhattan, NYC.
