Mistaken for decorations, some UFOs make holiday visits.

“It happened a long time ago during the holiday season,” Jake said. The Farmington resident said it all started like a typical Friday morning. He was up and out of the house early, with big plans for the weekend.

He left for work before sunrise as usual and planned to stop at a country store on the way into work for coffee, just as he’d done for years. As he drove closer to the store, he noticed a light near the building. He initially thought they were decorations.

Just before he pulled into the parking lot, he realized that there were more than one of these lights and that they were bright glowing balls hovering in the air. When he realized the lights were hovering over and around the store, Jake decided to hit the gas and keep on going.

He said that over the weekend he even discussed the hovering balls of light with his neighbor and asked her if she had noticed the lights in her travels near the country store. She said she hadn’t.

“I talked about them all weekend with my family, as I couldn’t believe what I had seen,” Jake said.

On Monday, he drove to the store as usual for coffee, this time with no lights around the store. As he stopped in to get his coffee, he asked the store owner about the lights.

The store owner got wide eyed and remarked that a dozen of his customers had seen those lights, and a couple of his patrons then stood outside and watched them dance around and dart every which way.

Jake said the store owner began to tremble a bit and lamented that frankly he hoped those lights wouldn’t come back for fear they’d chase away all his customers.

“No one ever saw those pretty dancing lights again around these parts.” Jake said.

Let’s look at some recent UFO sightings here in New York Skies:

    Feb. 17, 2016: At 6 p.m., a Yonkers resident reported seeing a white, star-like object with a glowing tail.

Feb. 18, 2016: At 7 p.m., a resident of Red Hook reported seeing a large boomerang-shaped object flying in the evening sky.

Feb. 18, 2016: At 10 p.m., a resident of Glens Falls witnessed erratic lights, which darted around while disappearing and reappearing randomly.

Feb. 21, 2016: At 7 p.m., a family in Harrison observed a formation of bright glowing lights flying in a “V” formation.
