Dom Flemons pulls from traditions of old-time folk music to create fresh, new sounds. Part of the Carolina Chocolate Drops, which he co-founded with Rhiannon Giddens and Justin Robinson, Flemons involvement with music began by playing percussion in his high school band. A multi-instrumentalist, Dom plays banjo, guitar, harmonica, fife, bones, bass drum, snare drum and quills, in addition to singing. Listen to “Too Long (I’ve Been Gone)” from the GRAMMY-winner’s newest solo album “Prospect Hill,” out now on the Music Maker label.
