Who knew a bright star seen at 4:30 a.m. would turn out to be an orange fireball UFO?
Daniel and Crystal were hanging out with some friends on a rooftop at about 4:30 a.m. in Brooklyn, NY. Daniel was carrying on an intense conversation with a friend, when he noticed something that seemed odd. In the clear sky, he saw a bright star-like object.
“It didn’t seem right, so I pulled out my iPhone and turned on an app that maps the night sky,” he said.
Daniel thought that surely the sky map would tell him the name of the star and its respective constellation. He thought at first it might be the north star, but he questioned the unusual brightness. At this point, he realized the bright object was in the wrong place and didn’t match up with any star on his iPhone app. and it was a peculiar yellowish-orange.
“One of our girlfriends decided to leave, so I took my eyes off the light, to say good night to my friend. It probably took three minutes or even less, when I decided to look back to the light in the west to use the app. To my surprise that thing had descended and was moving and is about to pass right over us.”
Daniel tells us the bright Orange fireball UFO was much bigger. At this point he I knew it wasn’t a star because it was moving. He pointed out the Orange fireball UFO to his friends, as they all gazed upon it; someone suggested that it might be a satellite.
“Conditions in Brooklyn are never right to star gaze,” he said.
But Daniel explained that the orange fireball UFO was too big, flying too low and too slow to be a satellite. Daniel and friends estimated the UFO was descending at an approximate 45-degree angle toward their position and was headed on a northeast flight path. He said the object dimmed, or momentarily disappeared, and suddenly reappeared and ascended at tremendous speed and silently disappeared.
“This thing had no signaling lights like airplanes, it was just a bright yellow dot passing by with no flickering,” he said. “No way it could have been an air balloon or a helicopter.”

- July 14, 2015: At 10:15 p.m., a resident of Cicero, NY saw an orange, glowing, oval-shaped object in the night sky, which disappeared into the distance.
- July 14, 2015: At 10:45 p.m., a resident of Patchogue, NY observed a orange glowing ball was hovering near Canaan Lake. The orange ball kept disappearing, reappearing and flying silently across the sky.
- July 17, 2015: At 10:10 p.m., an attorney and nurse in Sag Harbor, NY witnessed a sequence of 10 orange fireball-like objects flying north on a loose formation.
- July 18, 2015: At midnight, a resident of Asbury Park saw a strange object hovering in the sky. It resembled a bumper car with red lights, quickly turned around a couple of times and vanished.
- July 19, 2015: At 10:30 p.m., a resident of Wilson, NY observed three red-orange ball-shaped objects in triangle formation traveling west.
- July 20, 2015: At 9 p.m., a resident of Monroe, NY reported disk with two dim red lights, surrounded by a blue aura, with a light whirring sound, almost inaudible.
