POINTS OF REFERENCE is a music news blog for people with actual lives and/or short attention spans: a weekly selection of topical, pop music talking points fit for bars and break rooms. It’s divided into three sections: NEWS (duh), ALBUM RELEASES (once more with feeling), and STUFF AND THINGS (random, music-related crap from the internet). So, I’m all finished up here. Scroll down, won’t you?

    NEWS:

    • Frances Bean Cobain ignited a Twitter beef with Lana Del Rey and her army of listless teenagers.
    • 36 people were hospitalized after ingesting some dangerous substance at an Avicii show in Boston, MA.
    • Sotheby’s auctioned off Bob Dylan’s handwritten manuscript for the pivotal 1965 hit, “Like A Rolling Stone.” The draft, complete with unused lyrics and (terrible) doodles, sold for $2 million.
    • Phil Collins donated his collection of Alamo-related art to the Texas General Land Office.
    • Karen O plans to release her first solo album, “Crush Songs” (Cult), Sept. 9.
    • The Wu Tang Clan is searching for an unpaid intern to manage its social media accounts.
    • Shad Moss.

    ALBUM RELEASES, JULY 1:

Old Crow Medicine Show, “Remedy” (ATO). Listen.

    Robin Thicke, “Paula” (Interscope).

    STUFF & THINGS:

    • New York Magazine writer Lindsey Weber charted the “Lana Del Rey universe.”
    • Bob Boilen and the bros at NPR’s “All Songs Considered” discussed “The Year in Music (So Far), 2014.”
    • Consequence of Sound wants to score your pot roast.
