POINTS OF REFERENCE is a music news blog for people with actual lives and/or short attention spans: a weekly selection of topical, pop music talking points fit for bars and break rooms. It’s divided into three sections: NEWS (duh), ALBUM RELEASES (once more with feeling), and STUFF AND THINGS (random, music-related crap from the internet). So, I’m all finished up here. Scroll down, won’t you?

    NEWS:

    • Imprisoned P**** Riot member Nadezhda Tolokonnikova was moved to a Russian penal colony in Siberia. Also, a vrach tested her for tuberculosis. It’s officially 1937.
    • Cleopatra Records announced that it will release “Rockin’ Legends Pay Tribute to Jack White.”
    • Justin Bieber went absolutely insane.
    • Lily Allen returned with “Hard Out There.”
    • On Mon. Nov. 11 musician Raefe Ahkbar killed three people, including two members of the Iranian indie band Yellow Dogs. The band’s surviving members released a statement Wed.
    • Ian Curtis’ kitchen table is for sale on Ebay.
    • The MTV European Music Awards happened. Miley was Miley.
    • Flaming Lips covered Stone Roses.

    ALBUM RELEASES, NOV. 11 & 12:

    Lady Gaga, “Artpop” (Interscope).

The Beatles, “On Air –– Live at the BBC Volume 2” (Apple).

Death Grips, “Government Plates” (Self-Released). Download.

    STUFF & THINGS:

    • Buzzfeed published a sweet article on “selling out.”
    • Jody Rosen thinks you should listen to these albums.
    • So much yes.
