POINTS OF REFERENCE is a music news blog for people with actual lives and/or short attention spans: a weekly selection of topical, pop music talking points fit for bars and break rooms.

- Kanye West
mimicked Nasvisited Harvard’s Graduate School of Design. - Forbes released its annual list of “the world’s highest-paid musicians.”
- Andre 3000 and Big Boi, aka Outkast, had “some conversations” about possibly reuniting for Coachella 2014.
- Pharrell Williams debuted the first 24-hour music video.
- “Writers” at the illustrious People Magazine named Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine “sexiest man alive.” The Internet vomited while Ryan Gosling strode down a peaceful East Village side-street. Suddenly, Gosling halted his gait, titled his head skyward, and penetrated the atmosphere with a disquieting leer. Lighting flickered across the cloudless sky. Thunder rumbled. Aphrodite wept.
- Lauren Hill wants us to despise her.
- American Laundromat Records announced that it will release a Wes Anderson tribute album titled, “I Saved Latin!: A Tribute to Wes Anderson.”
