Hit maker Rick Springfield was in court for a third day on Wednesday Jan. 14 for a personal injury lawsuit against him claiming he struck an audience member with his buttocks while performing at Chevy Court during a 2004 concert at the State Fair in Syracuse.
Sarah Moses of Syracuse.com was live tweeting during the courtroom drama and reported that Springfield was asked to point to the part of his body where he wears his microphone pack during shows, at which point Springfield turned around to show his backside to the jury, commenting: “My butt’s never got so much attention.”
Following Springfield’s testimony, plaintiff Vicki Calcagno was called to the stand. CNYCentral.com reports that Calcagno stated that she was hit on the right side of the head with Springfield’s buttocks.
Whether it was the left or right side of Springfield’s buttocks that purportedly hit Calcagno’s head was not mentioned.
Springfield said that he did not hit Calcagno during the concert.
The trial resumes on Thursday Jan. 15 at 9:30 a.m.
