June 27 kicks off the second Summer Music Series for 1911 at Beak and Skiff’s Apple Hill Campus. 1911 has become a champion of the regions “buy local” movement. This year they are sharing the love of all things local by featuring all locally-based and/or born artists as the performers for the season. It feels fitting for this multi-generational family-run farm, which has been gaining international success with its artisanal craft spirits, to actively support the artistic talents of others. It also gives a gorgeous back drop for them to share their music with the CNY community.

If you have never taken the drive out to 1911, summer is an excellent time to experience the beauty of the hill top where the music happens, just outside of the doors of the tasting room. There is always a breeze at the hill top. Even on the muggiest of days, it feels cool and comforting. The panoramic view is simply breath taking. Let us not forget… the cider is amazing!

Each band offers their own unique sound, with a little bit of something for everyone to enjoy and find their own personal revelry.

The first act to kick off the summer series is TJ Sacco and the Urban Cowboys on June 27. Sacco, a self-proclaimed “cowboy from the city” combines country sounds of the past and present with an extra dash of rock ‘n roll, mixing it all together and making his own voice truly present.

The next act to bring the fun is Dave Hanlon’s Cookbook on July 18. This five-piece and three-time SAMMY-winning band brings the soulful groove where ever they go. It is almost impossible to not want to dance when lead vocalist Ava Andrews starts to sing.

Tipperary Hill favorites, Meer Mortals, take the Apple Hill Campus stage on August 1. This band brings high energy and a large a catalog of favorites from classic and contemporary rock and pop, sure to please any audience member.

The final act on August 8 is singer/song writer Cassidy Lynn. Lynn, originally from the Upstate region, has been making waves in the Nashville music industry including winning CMT’s Listener’s Choice Award in 2012.

All shows are located at 1991 Apple Hill Campus at 2708 Lords Hill Road, Layfayette. Tickets are $5, purchase available at the door. The shows are from 5-8 p.m. Bring a blanket or chair with you and some extra cash if you wish to partake in the hard cider offerings they will have. Most importantly, relax and enjoy!
